AW27: Around the World Stamping Challenge: Two Cards with Vellum

http://aroundtheworldstampinchallenges.blogspot.ca/2014/10/aw27-product-produit-producto-produkt.html
It's time for another Around the World Challenge! This month, we are focusing on products. For this challenge, we're featuring projects with Vellum! It's NOT just for wedding stationary! Click here to see what the rest of the Design Team has created and play along with us!

I made two cards for the challenge. The first card didn't turn out the way I had hoped, so I made a second one, which I like better! I stamped "Merry" in Lost Lagoon ink on the vellum cardstock and then embossed it with the Iridescent Ice embossing powder.

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Seasonally Scattered stamp set, Lost Lagoon ink & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Vellum cardstock, All is Calm Designer Paper, Iridescent Ice Embossing powder, Frosted Sequins, Whisper White Baker's Twine, All is Calm Snowflake Embellishment, Mini Glue Dots, Heat Tool

Here is my first designer. I was trying to make a shaker with the vellum cardstock and washi tape, but it was pretty tight and didn't "shake" much. I was disappointed that the shine of the sequins didn't show through the vellum and they all look white. I'll have to play around some more with this idea.

Your second card is lovely! The first one is nice....how about putting black on some of the sequins to make them pop more and loosening the Washi tape a bit?
